Anime Review: [First Impression] K – 1
Pure eye candy with the promise of an interesting plot.
One of my favorite things about watching anime is that you never know what you are getting yourself into. Will we ever find out what is going on in the anime series K? That is a question I asked myself during most of the first episode. I feel like we were just thrown into the middle a story and we need to figure out what is going on.
The first scene where a battle took place was absolutely breathtaking. The animation in this series stunning.
We then cut to some kids at school. We have a typical joker-type school boy named Yashiro Isana (Shiro), who just so happens to be the protagonist of this story. Shiro goes off on a task where he gets mixed up with some guys from the beginning of the episode.
At this point I am getting frustrated with this anime being that I still have no idea what is going on. I only am left with more questions.
Why is that little girl with all of these older guys and how exactly does her little glass sphere work?
Who is this girl and why is she naked? I spotted a naked girl jumping around. It seems as though she turned into a cat who follows around Shiro for the rest of the episode. This made me giggle a bit.
The story has great potential and I will have to watch to see which way it goes. I really wish they gave the audience a little bit more knowledge as to was going on, but I guess that was the point of the anime. The way this story grabs your attention has been used time and time again. Though it is effective, I feel as though this method is getting old, and that being the reason as to why I was getting so frustrated while watching it.
To sum it all up, K is beautiful and has some great music. The characters look awesome, the boys are very pretty, and just look how cute that little cat/girl is. That alone in enough to keep myself watching. That, and the need to know what the heck is going on!
