Sopranos star James Gandolfini has reportedly died of a heart attack while vacationing in Italy.
The actor, beloved for his role as Tony Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos (for which he won 3 Emmy Awards as Best Actor), had a break-out film year in 2012 with roles in Zero Dark Thirty, Killing Them Softly, Not Fade Away and this year’s The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.
Details are scant right now and we’ll update as they come in, but we wish his family all the best. This is a truly dark day for anyone who loves great character actors.
