“Tower Heist” (2011) - Trailer

Is it weird for me to say I’m excited about a Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy movie? That’s right… a Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy movie. Never thought I’d ever utter those words again. For a heist comedy film, this doesn’t look like anything too original, but it does feel a bit similar to this past summer’s Horrible Bosses—and I loved Horrible Bosses—in which ordinary people hire a specialist to help them take down their boss, and in this case, a former boss.

But what really sold me on this film is that Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy don’t seem to be playing their typical characters of this past decade. Stiller looks really old, and instead of being the push over nice guy he’s made a career out of, he’s a nice guy that’s taking revenge on an evil boss. Murphy on the other hand seems to be channeling his thief character from his glory years in 48 Hours. No Nick Nolte this time, but that’s probably for the best.

And who said Gabourey Sidibe wouldn’t ever get another gig in Hollywood?

Check it out when it hits theatres November 4th.
