Pop GO Celebrates “Reader Appreciation Week”!
In honor of all of the readers who has helped Pop GO surpass the 10,000 follower mark, we will be dedicating all of next week, starting Monday, Dec. 5th until Friday, Dec. 9th, to all of the wonderful geeks and otaku who have made it possible!
Compared to the more prominent blogs on Tumblr, 10,000 may not be that big of a number. But to a humble geek site like ours, it is beyond anything we have ever imagined. Pop GO wouldn’t be where it is today without the continued love and support that our readers have shown us the past year. Therefore, next week is all for YOU.
In addition to a few prize giveaways and contests, we will also be giving our readers the opportunity to be interviewed and featured in our Hi 5 segment.

Our Hi 5 segment is intended to honor some of our favorite geeks and otaku in the industry and in the GO culture who have made notable contributions. But during Reader Appreciation Week, what better way to utilize this segment than to honor our favorite geeks and otaku who have — our fans.
Here’s how:
All throughout next week, we will be having many 1-hour GO Chats, which will be hosted by a different staff member each time. These reader sessions are essentially live chats, but with a fun interactive twist.
Throughout a session the host will be asking those in attendance 10 qualifying questions. For each question the host will pick their favorite answer. Those who get their answer chosen will automatically be qualified to be Hi 5’d by us! A possible 10 readers can qualify each session—even if you qualify after one question, you have a chance to get your answer chosen in other questions, thus upping your odds at being Hi 5’d.
If you join a session late, not to worry! The 10 questions will be spread throughout the hour, so you’ll have a chance at qualifying during different points of the session.
After each session is over and offline, the host will decide which of the possible 10 will be highlighted in our Hi 5 segment in their own way. It could be random, it may not; you never know. They will then contact the lucky geek or otaku via email.
These sessions won’t just be about hosts asking readers questions. Readers can also ask hosts questions in between qualifying questions, and generally be able to connect like a normal live chat. Our goal is to provide an interactive experience for all of the readers who take the time to attend.
Listed below is the updated schedule of our upcoming Reader Sessions so far. In it contains the time various staff members will be hosting their respective sessions, as well as 5 things that really interests each host. These can used as topics of conversation or fodder for questions. Therefore, if you share some of the same interests, then it may be in your best interest to attend a specific session.

One person from each session will be interviewed by that respective host and be featured on our site in a Hi 5 segment write-up. So attend as many as you can for a chance to get featured!
Even if you don’t care about being Hi 5’d and just want to have a fun time chatting away with some of your favorite staff members about various GO nonsense, then be sure to join us throughout the week.
