Bandai Entertainment To Cease New Releases

Bandai Entertainment, the subsidary of Namco Bandai Holdings that handles anime and manga releases in the United States, announced that it will stop offering new DVD, Blu-Ray Disc, and manga releases next month. The company will continue to distribute from its existing catalog and will focus on licensing rights to other companies.

This may primarily include digital distribution, broadcasting and merchandising. Unfortunately, this move will have most of the company’s contractors and three of its five member full time staff being laid off.
