Yuusuke Murata’s Take On “Magical Girls”

Eyshield 21’s artist Yuusuke Murata teases he’s working on a project with the pseudonymous ONE. It’s uncommon for a manga to have a separate writer and artist, but it proved to work, at least for me, when Murata teamed up with Riichiro Inagaki in making Eyshield 21.

——

Murata describes the image above as a “magical girl thing”. I guess you can see it with the outfit she’s wearing, but with arms like those and a gun like that, you think even Mami Tomoe might stand a chance against her? We’ll see how this Mechgical Girl stacks up against other Magical Girls when the series is published.

I’ll be looking forward to this, well at least for the art for now. I enjoyed Eyeshield 21 but read the manga—the animation lacks in quality (heh).
