I was able to attend my first Designer Con in Pasadena this past Saturday and besides the standing out in the rain waiting to get in, it was a nice experience.
Check the break for the report.
At first I was heading in into this with the intent of on the spot Pop GO reporting but once I got in I did not have the wherewithal on where to start. I quickly realized that I don’t know enough about the designer vinyl industry to be able to talk shop with anyone but the most I can say is that I was impressed with what I saw. Seeing some of these pieces in person are better then seeing the images online. Looking at the details up close just make me want to pick up my customizing tools and start up shop sooner than I planned to. My favorite show in Dcon2010 would probably be Squid Kids Ink’s 10-Doh custom show.
I was especially impressed with this custom:
It was a shame that I wasn’t educated enough to be able to converse with anyone in the show but I was glad that I could appreciate the work that was produced. Hopefully next time I can do a better job with getting some exclusive news at a convention. The best I can do for now is show you pictures of some great stuff that I saw
