Manga Review: Bleach - 482

Dude, you’re stepping on Ichigo’s bed. Get off…now!
——
Ichigo, obviously more concerned over his bed than the intruder, immediately kicked Ivan then unleashed his Shinigami form. Much of the chapter focused on their interaction, as well as other events in Soul Society. In a nutshell, Kubo kept the pacing fast and the details slim.

Ivan appeared to be a Quincy/Arrancar hybrid of sorts, touting this fact to Ichigo through context clues. One could notice the chain with a Quincy pendant on it, as well as the mask on his face.
What was his purpose for being by Ichigo? Who exactly is he? What is his goal? I’m sure it’s not to avenge Aizen…but who knows. Regardless, it was an interesting character design and personality.
Meanwhile in Soul Society, suspense and mystery was at an all-time high. Some event in a district of Rukongai caused citizens to simply vanish. What or who caused this? Is it related to the other event in Old man Yamamoto’s office with a group declaring war?

Apart from the bland design of the group that declared war on Old man Yamamoto, the chapter was good. It did leave me curious of how everything related to each other. Further, why is there a need for a war? It appeared that the group seemed to have been watching over him for a while.
Speaking of mysterious figures, what is the motive of Ivan? I believe that he and his cronies will perhaps team up with Ichigo and that it will relate some way with Soul Society. Ivan was a bit too happy to come across as an antagonist, though one could argue that Grimmjow was as well when he was introduced. Then again, another could say Shinji was too.
