“Super Mario” Wii U Game To Be Revealed At E3

[via]

According to Shigeru Miyamoto, a new Super Mario game for the Wii U will be unveiled at this year’s E3.

More details after the break.

——

Miyamoto confirmed the news while speaking to reporters in Paris, particularly in an interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo. The game would be utilized both on the TV and on the tablet.

Nintendo’s game producer also noted that he was working on a couple of other gaming projects: Pikmin 3 for Wii U and Luigi’s Mansion 2 for 3DS. He also said that he would love to do more for Wii Music as he is disappointed that it hasn’t been as successful as he had expected.

Regardless if gamers are tired of Mario or not, it shouldn’t be a surprise that a Super Mario title is being worked on for the Wii U. It’s only inevitable that Nintendo’s top franchise would be a part of their next-gen console. While not confirmed, you should expect the game to be a Wii U launch title.

Hopefully other franchises like Donkey Kong and Star Fox get their day in the sun on Wii U as well. I wouldn’t mind an Earthbound game.

What kind of Super Mario game do you think will be showcased at E3? Super Mario 4? Galaxy 3? Super Mario Mii? Or a whole new game entirely?
