“One Piece” Inspires Theme Park In China

On Monday, it was announced that the One Piece manga and anime series has inspired plans for a massive theme park in the city of Dafeng in China’s Jiangsu Province.
Hit the break for details.

The park is planned to use 329 acres of land and will cost about $79M U.S. dollars to complete.
This is part of a plan to increase Dafeng’s tourism and bring attention to the Dafeng Harbor, which took ten years to complete.
Dafeng is not the first city to create a One Piece-inspired park; various Japenese resorts and parks have featured One Piece attractions. For example, the Huise Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture had a Thousand Sunny pirate ship replica for short cruises last year.

Also, Osaka’s Universal Studios Japan amusement park held a “One Piece Premier Summer” event in 2011, complete with One Piece decor and games and Sanji-style dining. It even contained the life-sized graves of Portgas D. Ace and Whitebeard that would bring a tear to any fans eyes.

My dream: that one day we get to see an awesome One Piece attraction come to the United States!
