“Fairy Tail the Movie: The Maiden of the Phoenix” Opening This August
Fairy Tail the Movie: The Maiden of the Phoenix (Fairy Tail: Hōō no Miko) revolves around a mysterious girl named Éclair who appears before Fairy Tail having lost all her memories. All she knows is that she must deliver two Phoenix Stones somewhere, which may spell the collapse of the magical world. Natsu, Lucy and the rest of the guild are caught up in the adventure.
Hiro Mashima, the creator of the original Fairy Tail manga, is in charge of story planning and visual design for the film’s plot as well as drafting the guest character designs and concept art. Masaya Fujimori, from You Are Umasou, is directing and Masashi Sogo, who worked on Fairy Tail, Bleach and Rurouni Kenshin, wrote the screenplay.
On Wednesday, the official website for the film announced that Lucy’s voice actress Aya Hirano will be singing the ending theme, composed by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu with lyrics written Goro Matsui who previously worked on the character songs for Fairy Tail.
Hirano will be joining Korean actor and singer Jang Geun-suk, who will be singng the film’s opening theme song “200 Miles.”
The film will be released on August 18th in Japan.
