Microsoft has officially announced the arrival of Xbox SmartGlass, a feature that allows users to connect all their devices and continue where they have left off or enhance entertainment experiences.

One feature is the ability to instantly continue watching where you left off on a tablet and continued immediately on your Xbox.

Another feature Microsoft also announced was the ability to use devices within gameplay or while watching TV shows and movies. A couple of the examples given were with Madden, where a tablet was used a playbook, and Halo, where the tablet was used for dossier information and multiplayer statistics.

Xbox SmartGlass arrives in October 2012.
