Due to Warner Brothers working with the Batman character during Smallville’s development, the character never appeared on the small screen alongside Tom Welling’s Clark Kent and friends. That will all change this September when the Caped Crusader appears in the digital-first continuation of the show, Smallville Season 11.

In the second arc of the series, aptly titled Detective, Bruce Wayne arrives in Metropolis on the trail of his parents’ killers. Also fighting alongside him will be Stephanie Brown as Nightwing. Season 11 Writer Bryan Miller and artist Pere Perez both worked together on Stephanie’s Batgirl series before DC relaunched their line as the New 52.

Smallville Season 11 is released in 10-page digital chapters for three weeks a month, with a print version collecting the three chapters in the fourth week.
