Indeed, Deadline notes that Warner Bros. initially held talks with Ubisoft which fell through, leaving Paramount Pictures to pick up the pieces, and is now the frontrunner to secure the rights. Despite this, no deal has been confirmed as of yet, with Paramount refusing to comment on the deal.
Deadline further posits key to any deal is Ubisoft’s desire to be involved in any film adaptation, with them being keen to retain control over how the game is translated into a film.
