“Cloud Atlas” To Be Released In The US This October

Big news for geeks came down the pike today. Cloud Atlas, the latest film from The Wachowskis (The Matrix) & Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run), will be released in the US on October 26.

If you’ve been following the development of this project, this is cause for major excitement. Little is known about the film other than it’s based on the book by David Mitchell and features six interconnected stories that span space & time.
The film features an all-star cast including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent, Keith David & Ariana Huffington.
This could be a return to form for The Wachowskis since their much-derided Matrix sequels and the (unfairly) maligned Speed Racer. Tom Tykwer could also use a hit stateside, something he hasn’t really had since Run Lola Run, although his film version of Perfume was pretty fantastic.
I personally can’t wait, as the more I read about this, the more excited I get. What do you guys think?
