Ma Ri and Jae Min’s exciting first date begins!

——

In this chapter Ma Ri and Jae Min decided to skip school and go on a date.  Most of the chapter consists of the fun things that they do, including seeing a movie, arcade games, and karaoke.  The two also discuss Ma Ri’s good mood and her dislike for winter.  The chapter didn’t contain much plot movement at all except for Ma Ri’s discomfort in the bathroom at the end of the chapter.

This chapter was a nice opportunity to see Ma Ri and Jae Min outside of school and to see how happy they make each other.  There were some SNSD and Big Bang references which is loved in particular.  It was also nice to see Jae Min because he wasn’t in the past couple chapters.  I was glad that the awkwardness had greatly dissipated between the two, although I’m sure it won’t last for long as they are very close to possibly breaking up because of Ah Ra.

This chapter seemed to be filler to a large extent and continued to build up to some sort of mysterious climax.  I’m not sure what the climactic action of this arc is going to be, but I hope it is something more exciting and surprising than Ma Ri and Jae Min breaking up yet again.  Although it is out of character for Ma Ri to fight back, I really do hope that she ends up standing up for herself or seeking help.  It’s about time she had some character growth.

This chapter was very cute and enjoyable despite the filler material and I can’t wait to see how it ends.  Hopefully it will end on a good note, without anyone crying or drinking the other person dry.  We’ll see where things go from here.  The chapter was called “Crossroads” after all.
