The latest casting rumours circulating the web suggest that Svetlana Khodchenkova is now set to take up the role of Viper in James Mangold’s The Wolverine. This news comes just a day after it was revealed that after offering the part to Jessica Biel, Fox were forced to look elsewhere after negotiations broke down.

Khodchenkova would be a good fit for the role, with Viper’s origins being in Eastern Europe, and would seemingly fit well into The Wolverine’s more ‘authentic’ feel, after the key Japanese roles were handed to Japanese actors. 

Khodchenkova is most known to Western audiences for her role the spy thriller, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, with most of her previous works being done in Russia.
