Variety is reporting that the tragic shooting last week in Aurora, Colorado, has led to Warner Bros. reviewing and ordering changes in the new upcoming Batman animated series, Beware The Batman.

Sam Register, Warner Animated VP and series executive producer, has reportedly requested a review of the entire series, which had led to numerous changes in the show. Most notable has been the revision of the weapons design, with the animation team changing “the shape of gun barrels from round to square for the purpose of rendering the weapons in a more stylized manner reminiscent of sci-fi fare.”

Beware the Batman was announced back in October and was planned to focus around Batman’s adventures alongside a gun-wielding Alfred Pennyworth and Katana, the heroine best-known from The Outsiders. The series is planned to debut spring, next year.
