Manga Review: Naruto - 595

The time to attack, is now!
—-
Naruto, Guy sensei, Kakashi Sensei and Bee versus the masked man, Tobi, is a fight that most people have been anticipating for months. During the past few months, beyond just a few glimpses and reaction faces, progress had not been made in this arena. Our attention has been diverted toward world building and the character development of Sasuke, Kabuto and even Madara. However, though our attention may have been less focused in this location; Kishimoto rewards us exceptionally for what we saw there.

The chapter was jam packed with essentially non-stop action. The action was so intense that it was quite difficult at times to make out events. Perhaps this itself is the main fault of the chapter, as the scattered rocks intermingled with the character art, make it a challenge to decipher what is happening. It took me quite a few reads to understand the plot. However, I think this is one moment where chaos of this sorts is justified—it stands as a testament to just how powerful each side is.

The chapter raises the question: how can the characters defeat Tobi? The combined efforts of Naruto, Guy, Kakashi and Bee have only yielded a crack in Tobi’s mask. Tobi himself wasn’t harmed physically in any way. They will need help to take down Tobi. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that there are any characters available—but Sasuke or even Madara, can possibly could step in to stop Tobi. .

Apart from the artwork—which seemed cluttered at times—this is one of the better chapters of this arc. Bringing the focus backed to Naruto works wonders and does well to please the fans.
