Sho is a jerk… again.

——

The chapter begins with Ren who sees Sho and Kyoko together in a car; but surprisingly, he doesn’t react normally and walks away as if he didn’t see anything. Kyoko, shocked by this reaction, is quickly interrupted by Sho who asks her if she thinks Ren even cares about her at all. Kyoko admits that she doesn’t think Ren has any special feelings for her. Sho then pins her to a wall and tells her to look him in the eyes—and say that she doesn’t feel anything for Ren. Kyoko, loudly and clearly, tells Sho that she doesn’t feel anything. But later, we see that she does indeed feel something for Ren. She decides at the end of the chapter that she can’t fall in love and become an “idiot” again.

This chapter was full of frustrations for a Sho hater like myself. I get so angry when Sho gets what he wants, and Kyoko feeds into it so easily. She needs to learn to stop falling for his manipulations. Sho is a self-serving character and he deserves to be thwarted more often; Kyoko can’t let her problems with him ruin her future happiness.

I’m frustrated with both Ren and Kyoko as well because if they don’t do something about their feelings, nothing is going to change and the plot won’t move forward. Kyoko can’t forsake her happiness for supposed wisdom forever. She can’t let Sho control her forever. I really hope Ren can take the high road and reveal his feelings because Kyoko won’t be the first to talk. He needs to do something—and fast.

I’m looking forward to the next chapter for some plot advancement. This chapter was mostly inner monologue so I hope for some interesting events. Ren needs to get a move on before Sho gets even more in the way!
