“The Last Stand” (2013) Debut Trailer

The first trailer for Korean director Kim Jee-Woon’s (The Good, The Bad, The Weird, I Saw the Devil) first North American feature film is out. The Last Stand sees a small-town sheriff (Arnold Schwarzenegger) called into action to stop an escaped drug kingpin on the run from a prisoner convoy and heading towards his border town by Mexico.

I found this to be a fun little trailer, thanks mostly to the direction of Kim Jee-Woon, as it looks like we’re finally going to have an action movie that doesn’t emphasize a shaky cam and too close close-ups. The action displayed is pretty neat and this is the return of Arnold Schwarzengger, so this should be a film to be on the look out for next year. 

The Last Stand also stars Johnny Knoxville, Forest Whittaker, Peter Stromare and Genesis Rodriguez and is set for a January 18th, 2013 release.
