Social media has become a huge bridge between celebrities and their fans, and one of the bigger stars who takes advantage of sites like Facebook is Vin Diesel of the Fast and the Furious and Riddick film franchises. Diesel has infamously posted up images and news on the project on his Facebook page with his latest Riddick film, but it’s his latest moves with his profile picture that have sparked some big rumors for comic book fans.
In a recent move, the action star changed his profile picture to that of Marvel Comics hero Vision, sparking rumors that he is hinting at a future role.

Now this is an interesting development. Though no word from Marvel has come out about discussions between Diesel and the studio, it is still interesting to note that the actor uploaded not one, but two images of the comic book character. When you look at his Facebook page’s other profile pictures, the recent two images of Vision come off as inconsistent, further adding to speculation that Diesel may be in consideration for the role.
Nothing has been confirmed or in concrete yet, but it is interesting to note that the character in question has surfaced. The possibility of adding Vision to one of Marvel’s upcoming films for Phase 2 is intriguing since he could either appear in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man or Joss Whedon’s Avengers sequel.
The prospect of adding Diesel in the role is also pretty exciting considering that one of my favorite roles of his—and probably his best role to date for that matter—was that of the Iron Giant in Brad Bird’s 1999 animated film. I think he’d be perfect for the role and am hoping that these rumors become a reality.
