The film has tabbed Sam Caflin (Snow White and the Huntsman, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) to play the role of the former District 4 champion who enters the 75th Hunger games a.k.a the Quarter Quell which pits former living victors against one another. 

Sam Caflin joins newcomers that include Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Tony Shalhoub, Amanda Plummer, Lynn Cohen, Bruno Gunn, Alan Ritchson, E. Roger Mitchell and Meta Golding. Returning to the film are surviving cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, and presumably Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Lenny Kravitz.
