The actor in question for the role is Adewale Akinnuoyue-Agbaje of Lost fame. Akinnuoyue-Agbaje will be pulling double duty as Algirm the Strong and Kurse. In the comics, Algrim is the most powerful of the dark elves race and is coerced into fighting Thor by Malekith the Accursed (played by Christopher Eccleston) who later betrays him, heals him and brings him back as the being known as Kurse.
In this film he joins a cast that includes newcomer Christopher Eccleston (with whom he co-starred in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra) along with returnees Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Rene Russo.
