More and more dangerous puzzles challenged, all for an attempt to get stronger.

——

Kaito seemed intent on trying to get stronger through any means necessary to save Free Cell. Like last episode and the Gusha or Fool’s puzzle, he was faced with another such puzzle at the start of this one. These puzzles continue to have dangerous consequences to them, but that only works to make it more suspenseful. Kaito truly is amazing.

Drama seemed to define those of the Orpheus Order. Melancholy cut the ties with Mizerka, which left her in an emotional state where she felt unneeded. Fortunately, Doubt was there to provide comfort. He seemed to want to challenge Kaito even though there is so much uncertainty around. How would he respond? Hoist seemed to offer them a change for real rings. All in all, it seems that there are just odd and dramatic things happening all across the board to everyone.

I found the developments around Mizerka to be quite compelling. Her emotional state and doubt (not the character) seemed to be running rampant in her mind. She also seemed to just not be focused on things around her. Part of me was hoping that she would listen to Ana and actually go back to his sister’s side since she was her best friend.

The puzzle was rather interesting. Although we sort of had these type of dreadful puzzles before, with the falling bars to cause players to be trapped and perhaps plunge to their doom, it never gets old seeing the characters reactions to it and figuring out how they will make an attempt to bring the puzzle to a draw to prevent a loss of life. The last time we had one like this, Kaito was faced with deciding to follow the bidding of the Orpheus Ring, as well as his friend. This time, he seemed faced with trying to save himself, as well as everyone else. As usual, Kaito’s exuberance with enjoying the puzzle made the impossible possible.

The music, plot, and drama made for a really fun episode. The characters having fun all around, the developments behind Mizerka, and even headmaster returning, all worked to give us something fun and unique.
