Anime Review: Eureka Seven AO - 18

Looks like I’m not the only one falling asleep due to this anime.

——

Ok, yet another episode where nothing really happens aside from two major points. One of these points confirms what the hell was going on with the whole Mirror/Elena thing. The other point, however, just raises more questions that are now being added to the laundry list of questions we already have.

First and foremost, we now know that Elena killed Mirror and assumed her identity. This wasn’t exactly made clear beforehand, and I’m not sure anyone could have inferred this from the events that took place. I kind of got a whole Fight Club vibe from that episode,  but I never could have guessed that Mirror was a real person and that she was now dead. But I guess that solves that mystery… even though I don’t think anyone really cares at this point.

Secondly, we have Fleur’s scar which I don’t recall ever being shown until this episode. It seems way too forced to me in the way it was shown and I hoped it would be something that the episode would cover. While the episode did cover it, it did so in a way that just raises way more questions. Like, who was the father and what the hell is a kid doing getting pregnant at her age? I mean… really… W T F ?

Aside from the possibility that the Third Engines are powered by emotions, or something like that, nothing really happens this episode that couldn’t have been summed up in a much shorter time frame. Episodes like this, to me, are things that should be mentioned and not actually shown. I mean, I’d expect this from Shiawase no Pan Plot, but not from Eureka Seven.

GO Rating: 1.5
