Tekken X Street Fighter Ibuki Theme Concept

Weekend Remix: Remix Is On The Scene

Song: Tekken X Street Fighter Ibuki Theme Concept
By: EXZD
Based On: Twilight From Street Fighter III: Third Strike
Original Composer: Hideki Okugawa

Street Fighter X Tekken showed the world what Capcom could do with a healthy union of Street Fighter and Tekken’s best. Now the world stands ready to see what Namco-Bandai has to offer with the proposed Tekken X Street Fighter.

While eagerly anticipating the title’s release, it’s natural that fans come up with their own ideas of what could happen? Most of these ideas took on the forms of artwork. Some, like this week’s remix, present themselves as music.

So just how would Ibuki’s Twilight theme sound through the Tekken lens? EXZD attempts to answer that question, trading in the soundtrack for some countryside ninjutsu training for music to a shadowy leap through an urban landscape. Twilight is a beautiful piece where its sound is rooted in some calm mystery. For instance, its melody breezes through laid-back drums.

That’s not the case here.

EXZD’s concept keeps the familar hook of the original, but surrounds it with sharp synths that pulsate, drums and claps that bounce, and a bass line that forces them all to team up with its dominating presence. It contains enough from the orginal to make it recognizable, yet sounds like it belongs in a Tekken game.

You can find more from EXZD here on YouTube.

Until next weekend… GO Party!
