Gearbox’s upcoming shooter Borderlands 2 is still more than a week away from release. While we know quite a lot about the game and its characters, the specifics of skills have been kept under wraps. But as of this week, gamers can exhaustively explore individual characters and potential builds ahead of time.
More info after the break.
Accessible via the Borderlands 2 official website, each of the four individual character classes’ skill trees have been made available to interact with. What that means is that players can go ahead and decide whether they want to play as a Commando, Assassin, Gunzerker, or Siren, and how each individual skill point will be spent.
Keep in mind that this won’t be the only way to make your character more powerful. At PAX Prime last week, I had the opportunity to see another way to make your character more powerful via the Badass Rank system. By completing challenges that add bonus stat increases that, as developers at Gearbox put it, “break the game.” These bonuses appear to stack infinitely as long as players continue to complete the challenges. For the purists out there, the Badass Rank can be turned off as well.
Borderlands 2 will be released on September 18th for PS3, 360 and PC.
