Manga Review: Bleach - 506

Captain Commander is definitely the hero we need! Screw Ichigo.
——
Just kidding. I really actually do want Ichigo to get involved with Soul Society. He has been trapped in that cage for far too long and is missing out on all of the action. The tease of someone arriving to Soul Society has yet to be addressed and at, last check, Ichigo was desperately using Getsuga Tenshou to escape. Our favorite protagonist in Jump is literally begging for attention.

Regardless, Captain Commander showed that he is adequate for the task at hand. He single-handedly fried three sub-bosses instantly. It was laughable, even. Did they really think they could take him on when he just completely fried one of their leaders? What made this moment even more special was the fact that this pose, which is commonly used for Ichigo, was used for Yamamoto. I liked this small touch.

Yamamoto’s strikes against Juha Bach were surprising to say the least. While the Stern Ritter put pressure on all of the Lieutenants, this man, this single commander, managed to take on their leader and deal some pretty devastating blows. Either they are all weak, or Captain Commander is just that powerful. Hopefully he can manage to destroy Juha Bach, putting him in his place.

Overall, this was yet another awesome Bleach chapter. Yamamoto proved that he is competent and is worthy of being our Captain Commander. Juha Bach finally being named was worthwhile and I can only hope that we get a lengthy flashback of what happened previously between him and Yamamoto. Furthermore, having Yamamoto utilize his Bankai is one of those moments that makes enduring 505 chapters of Bleach so worth it. What will this Bankai do and how powerful will it be? Can it be sealed by Juha? I’m rather excited at the possibilities.
