BioWare Producer Confirms Details for “Dragon Age 3”

[via]

Yesterday Mark Darrah, executive producer for Bioware’s Dragon Age series since Origins, has confirmed that the next game in the franchise is in the works.

Hit the break for details about the game.

——

In his open letter, Darrah confirms that the game’s title will be Dragon Age 3: Inquisition—a title that may hint about the story to gamers who know about the recurring Dragon Age conflict between mages and the Templars who fear the dangers of magic and seek to keep mages in check. But Darrah says he won’t discuss the story details quite yet.

Fans who preferred Dragon Age: Origins to the critical miss Dragon Age 2 can take heart; Darrah says most of the team working on the new game come from working on Origins. New developers are working alongside veterans.

Finally, Darrah confirms that BioWare is working on a new engine that allows more customization, a bigger world and character choices with consequences—all things that fans said were lacking in Dragon Age 2.

More news will be forthcoming. Darrah even says he has lots more to tell but can’t yet. For now, he assures fans, “We will continue to have a dialogue with you,” and encourages feedback.
