The weather has cooled. Leaves have died. That can only mean one thing -– the ice age has come.
…Or it’s just Fall.
Either way, Summer will become nothing more than a floating memory, but considering some of the cool Geek and Otaku-related items that came through during that season, it should serve as a cool memory.
Disney’s Gravity Falls is one reason to smile fondly about this year’s Summer season. With its smart scripts, sharp jokes and the lovable siblings Dipper and Mabel, it’s hard not to become a fan of this show just from watching an episode. Heck, Gravity’s recent fighter game episode might just be the best video game parody I’ve seen in quite some time.
It’s probably why Adam WarRock’s Gravity Falls rap has been jamming a lot on the Walkman lately. Much like the show, WarRock’s song is smart, sharp and instantly lovable. The way the show’s theme naturally loops around the beat sounds as if it was tailor made for hip hop. And WarRock does a clever job of basically rapping a plot synopsis without it sounding hokey at all. If Gravity Falls ever decides to have a rap-centric episode like Regular Show, please call up Adam.
Speaking of the nerd wordsmith, Adam just wrapped up some touring earlier this week, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be busy. Check out his site for more updates.
Until next weekend…GO Party!
