Manga Review: Naruto - 602

How in the world did Madara survive?
——
Teen Obito is pretty hilarious. I liked his whole backstory-filled chapter. Personally, he is a great character and I always felt he deserved more time in the manga than he was given. To be such an important character for Kakashi’s development, it always seemed odd that Obito only showed up in one brief “Kakashi Chronicles” of sort affair, which wasn’t even wholly told in Obito’s view.

Thanks to Madara, Obito was able to have some of his bodily functions restored. Why did Madara do this? Madara wasn’t quite settled on what he truly wanted from Obito. Perhaps he wanted his eye, or maybe he wanted to be freed, or maybe he wanted him to carry out his will? It seemed that way. For Madara to actually have been resurrected in the present time, I can imagine that he did die. So, if he did die, then perhaps he didn’t want to be freed. Or perhaps Obito did try to kill him when he made a rush to get Obito’s eye.

Much of the chapter revolved around themes that have already been beaten into our heads for so long now. Madara believes the world is unfair, and that losers are always disadvantaged in the quest of war and peace, and he wants to bring true peace and happiness, etc. Obito thought he was pretty long winded and crazy and just didn’t want to listen to it. I thought his response to it was silly.

After Obito heard enough he tried to scuttle away. Of course, this was a silly thing to do as his body was just crushed and he was still recovering. Some part of me wishes that he would get free and go on to challenge Kakashi again, get stronger and protect Rin. This flashback sequence was alright and definitely does leave me wanting more. What will happen next and how does he get roped into Madara’s scheme?
