Misao copes with her newfound powers.

——

In this chapter, Misao and Kyou discuss their newly developed Youkai repelling powers. Misao is quite worried about it all and worried about the possibility of becoming a demon herself, but Kyou tells her not to worry. When she goes to the summer festival with her parents, Misao ends up repelling the humans around her and almost injures several people. Luckily, Kyou swoops in (literally) and calms her down. The two decide to watch the fireworks from the roof and Misao makes a decision to become stronger in order to control her power and to help others. The chapter ends with Misao collapsing.

This chapter was a definite improvement from the last, as it contained some real plot movement. I am really curious about Misao’s power because she has never had anything but a passive ability. Others use her for their own gains, but she has never had the power to protect anyone else. I see this power as a really nice development for her character because it makes her seem like a stronger and less passive person — as long as she can keep the power in control that is.

I’m concerned about why Misao faints in the end. Perhaps her power is too much for her or maybe she’s becoming a Youkai herself? I’m not sure what this will mean for her, but I think it won’t be anything good. Hopefully Kyou keeps an eye on her because if she thinks that she’ll hurt him for one second she’ll do something crazy and suicidal. It isn’t the first time for Misao.

I’m looking forward to the next chapter if only to see what the heck is going on with Misao. I also hope for some more exciting plot movement. There were too many reassuring conversations and dates in this chapter for me to handle.
