Grant Morrison’s “Multiversity” Set For Late 2013

Grant Morrison’s Multiversity is something which was announced a fair while ago. Despite the announcement, however, no concrete release date was ever set, leading to rumors about just when it would land at DC Comics.

Well, thanks to the first ever Morrisoncon, we now have a more specific release date than “soon,” with late 2013 being the date given.

Hit the break for details.

——

Multiversity was first announced way back in 2009, and was presented as a “worlds-defining miniseries” for DC.

Originally planned as a follow up to Infinite Crisis and 52, which reintroduced the multiverse to DC, Multiversity is now being described as the series which will define just what the multiverse is, and how it relates to the New 52.

It looks set to be a fantastic series, and one which any Morrison fan will definitely have to check out. The series has been finally announced as an 8-issue limited series, and will feature a revolving team of A-List artists. Each issue will see Morrison explore the multiverse, with the first 6 issues being stand alone stories on new and different worlds, before #7 and 8 tie up the series.

The first issue will see Morrison reunited with frequent collaborator Frank Quitely, on a story titled “Pax Americana.” Details are sparse on the story so far, but Quitely’s preview artwork (which can be checked at the source) reveals the story features some of the old Charlton heroes — notably Ted Kord, the Blue Beetle and the original Question.

I’m excited.
