Anime Review: Sword Art Online - 13

Bad-ass couple is bad-ass. What more could you possibly want?
——

Oh hey look. I got my fishing episode. Or well, half a shipping episode coupled with some of the most hilarious faces I have ever seen. What else can I say about them other than that they were just awesome? I’m partial to the bug-eyed Kirito one myself.

Other than the hilarious faces in the first half, there isn’t a whole more to say about it. The story is going as it should and Kirito and Asuna are constantly upping the melodrama. There is literally nothing new in this episode. It’s really just A-1 Pictures cruising at this point. They’ve done a real quality job thus far and I see no reason to question them at the midpoint. My only concern is where does that leave us exactly in terms of episode content? Not to hint or spoil anything prematurely, but I can’t see the current story arc lasting another 12 episodes. Five maybe, but seven is pushing it. Will the anime really go beyond the end of the first volume? I’m hoping it will, but I’m not sure how they’ll manage it.

Another solidly delivered episode for Sword Art Online. Honestly, the given the quality level of this show, I don’t know if I should curse the fact that I have nothing to say.
