After Angry Birds Space came out, the Rovio team decided to take the space theme a step further. Many members of the Space design team were Star Wars fans, making the beloved space setting of Star Wars a natural next step.
Though Rovio is still close-mouthed about many of the details, Ville Heijari, Vice President of franchise development, has let loose a few specifics to entice fans. Many of the birds — angry as always — will be recognizable Star Wars characters. For instance, Red Bird will become Luke Skywalker, and the in-game Star Wars birds will enjoy special powers that match their counterparts’ abilities in the movies. Players can also expect to spot a few Star Wars scenes play out in an Angry Birds way — a fun mash-up for those who love both franchises.
If you’re eager to get a feel for the game, check out the teaser and choose your side in the battle between the Rebels and Imperials at the Angry Birds Star Wars site.
Angry Birds Star Wars comes out around the globe on November 8 for iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone and Windows 8.
