“True Skin” Sci-Fi Short
You may not have heard of the name of Stephen Zlotescu, but you’ve probably seen his special effects work on music videos. Zlotescu has worked on videos for Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. This time, it looks like he’s trying to branch out with this sci-fi short he’s directed, called True Skin.
In True Skin, everyone is augmenting their bodies, and that’s no different for the short’s hero. Unable to afford augmenting in the U.S., he heads to the black market of Bangkok, where he gets a hold of a mysterious chip. The chip is not only turning him robotic, but now he also has to outrun shadowy figures interested in it.
The director did actually shoot this in Bangkok, with some help from his frequent collaborators, Chris Sewall and a person by the name of H1. They call themselves N1ON, and they’re hoping that gives them some Hollywood buzz.
