BioWare’s MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic has been out since December 2011, but soon it’s going through changes that may lighten the burden on players’ bank accounts. On the game’s website, Electronic Arts has finally detailed exactly what content will be available for free when the MMO goes free-to-play.
Hit the break to find out just how many free hours you can put into the game.
SWTOR players have already been able to play to Level 15 for free with the Free Trial, but soon even more content is going free-to-play. The F2P part is the story content — and that can amount to more than 100 hours of play time.
Meanwhile, all of the other details of the game will be limited unless you subscribe. Without a subscription, Quick Travel cooldown will take longer, players will have access to only three Space Missions per week, and character creation choices will be limited, among other things.
Many of these restrictions can be lifted by purchasing a weekly pass or spending Cartel Coins. And if you’re a fan of bonuses, subscribing unlocks the Sprint ability at Level 1, Cargo Hold access, and more Chat and Secure Trading access.
