One thing fans can be sure about now: BioWare has been taking its time with this particular installment in the Dragon Age franchise. Cinematic designer John Perry said the pre-production for DA3 was longer than pre-production for any other BioWare project he’s worked on. A single level in DA3 is as large as all of Dragon Age 2’s levels, according to Perry.
Though it sounds like human will be the sole playable race in DA3 — at least before modders get to it — creative director Mike Laidlaw confirms that customization is bigger than in Dragon Age: Origins. This is thanks partly to greater follower customization, among other things.
And when the panel revealed an image of a castle in the game, Laidlaw coughed something about players possibly being able to take control of it, hinting at more of those in-game decisions that help define BioWare titles.
