One of the most iconic pieces of the Evil Dead franchise is the Necronomicon, aka Book of the Dead, something which plays a pivotal role in the sinister happenings of the series. Evil Dead’s Facebook page has released a couple of images of the Necronomicon, so hit the break for more.

Evil Dead is directed by Fede Alvarez, a rebooting of Sam Raimi’s classic series, and stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore. The film tells the story of a group of friends visiting a remote cabin, only to summon up long dormant demons that strive to possess the group. Evil Dead is set to be released on 12th April, 2013.
