BioWare Montreal has big plans to revitalize the Mass Effect series by creating a new game with a different cast of characters.

According to a blog post by studio director Yanick Roy at BioWare Montreal, the Edmonton studio that was in charge of the previous games will support the new game’s development. However, the new location is meant to be the first step in ensuring the next Mass Effect game offers something fresh.
The fourth Mass Effect will also be built with the Frostbite engine. Though it will feature a different story and new gameplay, fans of the series can rest assured that the vast galaxy, alien races, and deep storytelling will feature in the new game, just as they did in the previous games.
