Weekend Remix: Super Saiyan Vegeta Bump
Song: Vegeta Super Saiyan Theme Remix
By: TWE Shellshockr
Based On: Vegeta Super Saiyan Theme (FUNimation Dub) from Dragon Ball Z
Original Composer: Bruce Faulconer
Welcome to another installment of the “Weekend Remix”, the GO-centered channel that explores some of your favorite tunes turned upside down and inside out. This week’s remix will turn your speakers Super Saiyan as we look at the Prince of All Saiyans’ two-step in the club.
While nerd debates may rage on longer than the Clone Wars concerning the FUNimation dubbing of Dragon Ball Z, you can’t deny that the music produced some pretty memorable tunes. And remixer and beat maker TWE Shellshockr from the Universal VG Musicians group seems to think so.
Shellshockr took one of Vegeta’s shining moments and concocted a mix that’s as fierce and arrogant as the saiyan. While the additional piano and strings in the remix fit right at home with Bruce’s original, the hip hop bass and drums give it way more attitude than its original roots. Warning, as listening to this remix may give you images of Vegeta immediately sporting a B-Boy Stance after delivering a Final Flash.
Or maybe even a rap verse?
“Vegeta on this dirt ball, taking over with much force/
Study the saiyan code and no it’s not Morse /
Kakkaort’s just a carrot, I’m the main veggie course/”
Eh, on second thought, maybe he should just stick to fighting.
Anyway, the remix starts at the 1:13 mark, though the opening scene is a good chance to listen to the original song. Also, why would you not want to relive one of Vegeta’s greatest moments before Android 18 beats the crap out of him.
You can find more of Shellshockr’s stuff at his YouTube account, or with the UniversalVGMusicians group here and here.
Until next weekend, GO party.
