Women of X-Men, 80’s Style

The name Patrick Nagel may not be well known to you, but I’m sure his art style is. These T-shirts by Mighty Fine utilize his indicative, 80’s pop art style to showcase select heroines of Marvel’s X-Men.

If you have any interest in buying said threads, click here. Also, if you like Alphonse Mucha and art nouveau, check these X-ladies out!

The Legend of Zelda (1987) Trailer

If a Legend of Zelda film was made in the 80s, and you know, was directed by John Hughes, then it might look like this. This faux/parody trailer was produced by some of the talented folks from Gamervision, and it’s ripe with Legend of Zelda and 80s movie references. If both combined is comparable to peanut butter and jelly to you, then you’ll eat this bad boy up. It’s even got that vintage VHS quality to it.

Perhaps you’re only watching this trailer because of the Legend of Zelda parody and/or are a 90s baby who hasn’t had the pleasure of watching some of these 80s teen flicks, and some of the references flew by your head. No worries. YouTube user and filmmaker nickfromflc (Nick Murphy) — who uploaded and directed this video, and is a part of team Gamervision — also provides a very cool top to bottom comparison of the references and their 80s originals.
