“X-Men” By Brian Wood To Launch In April

image

Last week, we got a teaser from Marvel in the form of their typical NOW! teases for a new X-Men book by Brian Wood and Olivier that simply read “XX” with a double-helix design in the background. We now know that this book is indeed an all-female X-Team, like many fans had guessed.

More after the break!

Wood And Coipel Are “XX” Rated For Marvel NOW!

image

In what is assumed to be the final batch of Marvel NOW! teasers, Marvel has announced that writer Brian Wood and artist Olivier Coipel will be teaming up for what appears to be an X-Men-related series with this new XX teaser.

Wood had a critically acclaimed run on the adjective-less X-Men title, which is coming to a close with issue #41 fairly soon, so whether this is a relaunch of that title or something slightly different remains to be seen.

Confirmation will be this time next week, if past patterns repeat.

Brian Wood Coming To Marvel In 2012

Fans of writer Brian Wood know him for many of the series that he writes over at DC’s Vertigo imprint, and his fans also know that his two long running series over there, DMZ and Northlanders, are both coming to a close soon. Well, it seems that with his Vertigo stuff ending Brian Wood will be migrating over to Marvel, and we’ve got this teaser to show for it:

It doesn’t give much information, but it’s evident that he’ll be attached to some sort of Wolverine series. It could be a new mini-series, a new ongoing, or he could be replacing Jason Aaron on Wolverine vol. 4. I’m wondering if this means he’s moving over to Marvel more permanently now, and if it means we’ll be seeing him on more books in the future.

COMICS YOU SHOULD BE READING: NORTHLANDERS

This time I’m coming to you with a currently running Vertigo series, Northlanders. This will be a bit different since the series is currently still ongoing, but I wanted to publish one like that because there will be more along the way.

These articles are broken down in a “Who, what, when, where, why, how” manner, where I answer each question according to the series.

  • WHO writes/draws it
  • WHAT is it about
  • WHEN was it published
  • WHERE can I find it
  • WHY should I read this
  • HOW much will this cost, how is it collected
