Fan Casting: Avatar: The Last Airbender

On my personal account, I created a fan casting for Avatar: the Last AirbenderIt was mostly inspired by the several fan casts I have seen of the series online that mostly had white actors in these roles, instead of using actors that better reflect the ethnicity and the culture behind the series.

So for Pop GO, I wrote a post about my fan cast which includes detailed, personal explanations for each of my casting choices.

Nickelodeon Releases A Second “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Trailer

After revealing more details about this upcoming series at Comic Con last weekend, Nickelodeon has released another trailer for their new show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The series, which is going to premiere on September 29th on Nickelodeon, will be featuring slight changes from the old school 90s series and the fan favorite 2003 series.

Other than changing the animation style to CGI, the turtles will be featuring a wider array of weapons and fighting styles, including having both Donatello and Michelangelo wield bladed weapons as opposed to their blunt ones.

As a fan of the ridiculous, slapstick-filled 90s series and the more serious, action-oriented 2003 series, I am a bit skeptical about Nickelodeon taking the reigns of this childhood favorite. But I am hoping they will mix the good parts of both former shows and create a great new show!
