Previously, in Dark Avengers: After being accidentally transported to a different reality, the Dark Avengers were embroiled in a war between superheroes — in this terrible dimension, New York has been divided up between Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Ben Grimm and a few other heroes as they fight for supremacy. The group is divided, with each of them getting sucked into a certain warlord’s army.
The only way to fix their predicament is to find Reed Richards – one of the few heroes who seems to be uninterested in the war and only in trying to restore reality to the way it should be. The Dark Avengers decide to save Richards and hope that he’ll be able to send them home. But before they can, Moonstone falls in battle; or so it seems.

Previously, in Dark Avengers: The Dark Avengers were trapped in an alternate world alongside Skaar, Moonstone, and Warden John Walker. This alternate world is very similar to our own, but superheroes now war for territory across New York, with different neighborhoods policed by different heroes. Skaar and Moonstone ran afoul of this dimension’s Doctor Strange, who manipulated them into starting a war between Iron Man and King Thing, leader of the Moloids.
The other Dark Avengers resolved to rescue their teammates, when Namor and Sue Storm returned to New York threatening to flood the city in 24 hours if the entire population didn’t leave and stop fighting each other. With only 24 hours to recover their comrades and rescue Reed Richards, the only person likely to be able to return them to their own dimension, the Dark Avengers set out on their first proper mission together, only to be soundly defeated and captured by this dimension’s Spider-Man and his allies.

Previously, in Dark Avengers: After being apprehended in Sharzhad by the Thunderbolts, the Dark Avengers (as well as Moonstone, Skaar, and John Walker) are accidentally sent to an alternate dimension where superheroes rule all of New York, and fight for territory amongst each other. Moonstone and Skaar are captured by Doctor Strange and forced to start a war, whilst the other Dark Avengers are found by Tony Stark and Hank Pym, and are taken back to Stark Tower for experimentation.
The Witch releases herself from confinement, and uses her mind control powers to twist Hank Pym into aiding her. Using her extensive knowledge of genetics, she is able to remove the cybernetic parts of Ragnarok, the clone of Thor, and turn him into a purely organic being, and restore John Walker’s missing arm and leg, allowing the USAgent to return to active duty once again.

The Dark Scarlet Witch is captured by Iron Man’s forces, and taken to his laboratory where she is able to escape using her new mind control powers. Unleashed in the lab with all of Iron Man’s facilities and a mind-controlled Hank Pym at her disposal, the twisted geneticist goes to work on her fellow team members, who are unconscious and at her mercy. Previously, in Dark Avengers: The Thunderbolts returned from their trip through time just in time to save Luke Cage and the Dark Avengers from committing an act that would send the Earth spiralling into a cataclysmic dystopian future. As a reward, Cage and his fellow Avengers allowed the Thunderbolts to go free, and so Man-Thing used his teleportation powers to send them to the places where they would receive what they sought after most.
The Dark Avengers were placed into custody, and Warden Walker and Skaar were set to fly their transport ship back to New York for their imprisonment. Unfortunately, the Toxic Doxie used her powers to almost crash the ship. Moonstone flew up to try and catch it, but Man-Thing instinctively sent the ship through a portal in order to keep his friends on the ground from being flattened. Despite intending to send the ship back to New York, Man-Thing has instead sent it to a parallel world, and now the Dark Avengers, Warden Walker, Skaar, and Moonstone must find their way back home.

Previously, in Dark Avengers: The Thunderbolts’ time travelling adventures are almost at a close. Deep within Mondo City 1, a dystopian future city in the midst of a war with mutants, they have discovered a signal that Man-Thing can track back to the present. The only thing standing in their way is Boss Cage, the clone of Luke Cage’s grandson.
In the present, the Dark Avengers have managed to put an energy siphoning mutant named Wender inside the Rygellian device that powers the Sultan Magus. This has caused a massive energy feedback, and threatens to cause enormous destruction. This event has become known as the Cataclysm in the Thunderbolts’ future, and they are now trying to return to their own time to prevent this from occurring. Unfortunately, time is running out, and Luke Cage and Skaar are in no position to aid them.

Previously, in Dark Avengers: The Dark Avengers fled from Luke Cage and Skaar, leaving them to face the Sultan Magus on their own. The magus used his omnipotent powers to transform Skaar into his vulnerable human form, and now holds the Son of Hulk’s life in his hands. Back in the United States, Songbird, Mach V, and John Walker have discovered that the Federal Advisory Committee to the Thunderbolts is planning something that bodes ill for the Dark Avengers, as well as Luke and Skaar.
And in the future, the Thunderbolts have teamed up with a band of mutants in the future in order to battle the forces of Mondo City 1. They have also discovered that an event known as the Cataclysm was the reason for the dismal future they now find themselves in, and that the Dark Avengers were the key reason the Cataclysm took place. They are now trying to find a time machine so that they can get back to their own time, get to Sharzhad and stop the Dark Avengers from destroying the future!

Luke Cage is in pursuit, and not pleased. Also not pleased are the Federal Advisory Committee to the Thunderbolts (FACT), who seem to have an agenda all their own.
And meanwhile, the Thunderbolts find themselves in a strange future run by Boss Cage, a man on a flaming motorcycle with Iron Man’s repulsor tech weaponry.
