“X-Men: Days Of Future Past” Will Not Link To Any Other Heroes

With Mark Millar hired by 20th Century Fox to oversee the studio’s superhero properties — namely the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider — there’s been speculation that Fox would look to intertwine their movies and that we would see some crossovers of sorts.

Well, BleedingCool is reporting that we will not be seeing any cameos from other heroes in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. Early reports suggested that the FF may make an appearance.

Seth Grahame-Smith Joins “Fantastic Four”

image

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter novelist and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith has joined Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot. Grahame-Smith has also worked on Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows.

Very little is known about the reboot so far, although Chronicle‘s Josh Trank is on board to direct, with Matthew Vaughn producing. With Fox also owning the rights for the X-Men series, there’s been speculation of some sort of cross over at some point. We’ll have to wait and see.

Fantastic Four is set for a 6th of March, 2015, release.

“Fantastic Four” Reboot To Be ‘Phenomenal’

At present, very little is actually known about Twentieth Century Fox Films’ Fantastic Four reboot apart from the fact that it is about the Fantastic Four; it’s completely disowning the previous two FF films and it will be directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank.

It seems as if SciFiNow has managed to pry a few tidbits of information from Fox’s creative consultant Mark Millar.

Top 5: Superheroes That Need Their Own Film

As the title suggests, with this piece I’ll be looking at a few superheroes that I think would flourish if given their own big screen outing. This is by no means a definitive list, and feel free to agree or disagree with my choices. Some may be an obvious choice, some a tad more controversial.

So, let’s get the ball rolling.

Mark Millar Signs On With Fox As “X-Men” And “Fantastic Four” Consultant

[via]

Mark Millar is no stranger to comic book films, having seen two of his well known works, Kick-Ass and Wanted already adapted to the big screen.

And it seems that Fox are keen to use Millar’s knowledge of comics in the future of their X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, with the studio having finalized a deal with Millar, seeing him sign on as their ‘creative consultant’ on their two Marvel properties.

“Defenders” Comes To An End As Fraction Heads Up “Fantastic Four” and “FF”

Matt Fraction’s Defenders title will be coming to an end in November with issue #12, Marvel has announced. Starring Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Silver Surfer, Black Cat, and the Red She-Hulk, the final arc will be a Kirby-esque romp involving mysterious Wakandan artefacts that warp space and time.

It’s not all doom and gloom for Mr. Fraction however, as Marvel has also confirmed that he will be taking hold of both Fantastic Four and FF as part of Marvel NOW!

Details under the cut.

According to Variety, Marvel and Fox are currently in talks over a rights extension for Daredevil. The deadline for Fox to have a project off the ground for their reboot is October 10, but the project is yet to tie down a director. It appears that Marvel is willing to give Fox more time—at a price.

Fantastic Four May Be Coming Back - But Hickman’s FF Will Continue
A lot of people expected Marvel to resume publication of Fantastic Four with #600 on the horizon, but it was expected that the title would replace FF.
Marvel’s latest teaser, however, reveals that isn’t the case; the return of Marvel’s famous comic will not mean the end of the Future Foundation.
I would imagine that there will be a shift of focus in this title, with the spotlight being shone on the children and making this a support title to Fantastic Four.

It’s Official - Marvel Announces Fantastic Four #600
Over the last few days Marvel have released a few mysterious teasers regarding the future of the Fantastic Four family, teasing something coming up in November.
Today another teaser has been announced, which has finally confirmed that the Fantastic Four title will return, just in time for #600. The issue is also planned to be “quadruple-sized”, featuring the artistic talents of Epting, Di Giandomenico, Yu and Dalrymple.
So will the Human Torch return? It’s possible. I’m still not entirely sure, since it just feels too soon.

Third Teaser for Marvel’s “Four” is Released
We’ve seen the classic logo, and we’ve seen the current team, but Marvel’s latest teaser shows the First Family together again.
Does this mean that the Human Torch is coming back? I’m leaning towards a ‘no’ now, since a teaser which outright shows him alongside the team doesn’t seem like a ‘teaser’ to me.
Either way, I’m interested in what Marvel has planned for the Fantastic Four/Future Foundation.

Marvel Releases Second Image Teasing “Four”
Yesterday saw Marvel release a teaser for November, featuring the classic Fantastic Four logo and no other details other than the creative talents behind the project.
Today they’ve unveiled yet another teaser, which is equally vague, being a lovely painted cover of Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Thing and Spider-Man, who now of course make up the Future Foundation.
