Jonathan Rhys Meyers In Talks For “Star Wars: Episode VII”

image

[via]

There’s news today that Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Velvet Goldmine) is in talks for an undisclosed role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.

El Mayimbe over at Latino Review broke the scoop, and he has a pretty good track record with breaking casting news. Let the speculation begin on what role he’ll be playing, but if it’s true, my money’s on Jacen Solo (if they even go down that road).

Anime Series Anime OVAs, Specials, Movies

Summer 2013 Anime Chart

It’s that time of the Spring anime season again. With series approaching their halfway marks, here’s a preview of what is to come for the Summer season.

The Summer season is a feast of second seasons, remakes, and spin-offs such as Monogatari series, Rozen Maiden, and Fate/kaleid liner. There are a couple of new adaptations in the mix like Blood Lad, Silver Spoon, and Danganronpa if you’re looking for something fresh.

In my opinion, the greatest thing that the summer season has to offer are the movies. These include Ghost In The Shell Arise, AnoHana movie, Hal, and Miyazaki’s Kaze Tachinu.

Weekend Remix: Stark Records

Song: The Iron Man Trilogy Remix
By: Mike Relm
Based On: Iron Man from Black Sabbath and sounds and clips from Iron Man (film)
Original Composers: Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler,Bill Ward, and Tony Iommi

It’s no secret that most fans were left impressed with the latest Iron Man film. The movie not only managed to smash box office records, but it also garnered some praise on the level of Marvel’s The Avengers.

It served as a perfect film to properly open the summer movie season. With Stark’s solo film adventures now a trilogy, it would make sense for Mike Relm’s remix to document that fact.

Relm’s mix takes the Sabbath classic into a techno realm, sprinkling in chopped soundbites and scenes as if a DJ is playing doctor on the trilogy.

It’s a fun addition to the films.

If you’d like to hear more from Relm, you can click here.

Until next weekend… GO Party!

Film Review: Star Trek Into Darkness

image

“Enough with the metaphors… That’s an order.”

In 2009, Paramount handed the reigns to one of its most successful franchises, Star Trek, to their in-house wunderkind, J.J. Abrams. The film that Abrams delivered was a fun throwback to the Trek of old, with plenty of action thrown in to hold the attention of viewers not used to the more leisurely pace of Gene Roddenberry’s creation. The film was a surprise hit that summer, and expectations could not be higher for the follow-up, Star Trek Into Darkness.

So could the film live up to those expectations? Read on to find out…
