“The Man with the Iron Fists” (2012) Trailer #2 (NSFW)
The second trailer for the RZA’s upcoming martial arts film, The Man with the Iron Fists, is out.
The first half of the trailer doesn’t offer any new footage seeing as it’s a complete rehash of the first trailer, but the second half does. During the last minute of the trailer we’re treated to more of the film’s over-the-top action, as well as names for the film’s major characters.
The Man with the Iron Fists is out November 2nd and stars The RZA, Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung, Pam Grier and Dave Bautista.
“The Man With The Iron Fists” (2012) - Red Band Trailer
This has got to be one of the most fun trailers of the year. The Man With the Iron Fists comes from Quentin Tarantino, is directed and co-written by The RZA—along with Eli Roth—and stars Russell Crowe alongside Lucy Liu, Pam Grier and Jamie Chung.
As you would expect from a martial arts film from the aforementioned trio, this trailer is nothing short of bloody fun and mayhem as it centers around a feudal-era China, weapons maker who must defend his village’s people.
No release date has been set, but it should be released later this year.
New “Premium Rush” (2012) Trailer
The new trailer for Premium Rush has hit the web, and if you’re wondering what this movie is about then let me tell you: New York City bike couriers! Seriously, bike couriers.
The film centers on a bike courier (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who is given a package that was more than he bargained for as the delivery quickly turns into a life and death situation with a mysterious man after him (Michael Shannon).
The film is co-written and directed by David Koepp (Secret Window) and also stars Dania Ramirez and Jamie Cheung.
Premium Rush delivers on August 24th
“7500” (2012) Teaser Trailer
In the most recent years of Hollywood, the horror/thriller genre has been subjected to pretty much 3 sub-genres of films: remakes/sequels, found footage style films and gore fests/torture porn. 7500 offers a bit of a breather from those sub-genres with an original take.
The film is set on a flight from Tokyo to L.A. where passengers of flight 7500 encounter what appears to be a super natural phenomenon that wreaks havoc upon the crew and passengers during the flight.
What I like about this trailer is that it doesn’t reveal what is attacking the crew and passengers. It is essentially a bottle film with all the action and thrills taking place on a plane and, as a bonus, my shallow side is happy to see Jamie Chung continuing to get work. She may not be a great actress by any stretch of the imagination, but it is important that more ethnic actresses continue to gain work in a predominantly Caucasian Hollywood.
The film is set for an August 31st release.
Half of you are probably wondering, “Who is Jamie Chung?” If you have seen MTV’s The Real World: San Diego in 2004, then you should remember this reality-star turned actress, as she will appear in both Sucker Punch and The Hangover: Part II, both due out this year.
Since The Real World: San Diego, she has appeared on a few TV shows, which includes starring in ABC’s Samurai Girl, the stand-alone RTS video game Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising as Commander Takara Sato, and has transitioned into films such as I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Sorority Row, and Dragonball Evolution starring as Chi Chi. Even if she has done some bad films here and there, Jamie Chung is one to look out for. Lately, if you look at all reality stars of today (The Situation, Snooki, Teen Moms, etc…) in the end, that’s all you can call them. But in the last 7 years, Jamie has slowly made the transition away from being called a reality star to actually gaining Hollywood’s respect. And in this business, it’s all about respect.
