With principal photography for Disney’s re-imagining of Sleeping Beauty—titled Malificent after the horned sorceress—beginning, the first image of Angelina Jolie in the title role has been released.
“This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.“
The film also stars Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Leslie Manville and Miranda Richardson.
Malificent is set for a March 14th, 2014 release.
